Aisling Bea

Aisling B a, born 16 March, 1984, in Kildare Ireland. She was featured on QI together with Stephen Fry. Aisling O'Sullivan, better known by her stage title Aisling Bea (born March 16, 1984), is an Irish actor, writer and stand-up comic. Bea, who began appearing as bit roles on Irish or British TV shows in 2009, started her career as a stand-up comedian in 2011. She was already regularly being featured on sketch comedy programs and sitcoms. In 2012, after she received an award from the Edinburgh Comedy Awards (ECA) in 2012, she began appearing often in various panel programs. Between 2016 and 2017, she was a team captain on 8 Out of 10 Cats and a regular contestant for the sequel 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. The parents of her are Brian and Helen O'Sullivan. She has a younger sister, Sinead. She was in 2012 the second female to receive the So You Believe you're Funny award. The surname she uses is Bea in honor of her deceased father. Aisling Claiodhnadhs Sullivan was born on March 16, 1984, at Kildare, County Kildare. The father of Bea was Brian was a vet for horses that committed suicide when she was just three years old. She didn't discover the reason of her death until she was 13 years old. In 2017, she composed an essay for The Guardian about the suicide of her father's family. She also took on the stage name Bea in tribute. Bea (and her sister Sinead) were brought up within the home of Helen Moloney who was a instructor and trainer of jockeys who was also a professional jockey. Her family were horse and race meeting obsessed. As a young girl, Bea employed as a tour guide at the Irish National Stud however she knew from a young stage that she was not interested in the racing industry as a career and instead enjoyed performing.
